THIS AND THAT

Times are beginning to somewhat return to normal, whatever that means nowadays. I played pool for the first time in over 15 months in the middle of June. Entered a tournament, played well considering I hadn't even held my cue stick in all that time. I was pleased with the way I played but lost to the eventual winner of the tournament, so it must have been fate (if I had been fated to win, I would have). I then joined up with my teammates a few weeks ago for a team practice before the league starts up again in August. It was very fun seeing all of them again, catching up and having a great time playing pool against each other. We are scheduled to do it again tonight, so looking forward to that. The picture is of all of us but James, as he was moving and couldn't make it that night. He's supposed to be there tonight. The other photo is of me getting ready to make a ball.

Martin and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary on July 7 and then turned around and celebrated on July 12 as well, as we met on that date in 2015, so it was six years for that celebration. We had a wonderful Chinese dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant, Eliza's. We didn't eat again until late in the day the following day. I found a recipe for rangoon, a crab/cream cheese bit of yummy made with wontons. You fill them with the mixture and either deep fry or bake them. I am going to try my hand at them sometime soon. The first photo is of us awaiting the tasty treats in store for us at the restaurant; the second on us walking down to catch the bus after we finished eating.

Late last month, on two consecutive days, I met up with two former coworkers for lunch dates. I had a very enjoyable time with both Joseph and Fontane. I met Joseph in the Dogpatch area of SF and rode BART to Oakland to meet up with Fontane. Hadn't seen either one of them since we all left Harder & Company, so it was great catching up on our lives.

I also went to the movies at a theater again. Met up with David to see "In the Heights" a musical about the Washington Heights area of New York City. It was delightful! Martin didn't go as he had no interest in it all. Too bad, he missed a fun movie. I recommend it if you like movie musicals. We are going to meet up with David again next week to see "Summer of Soul" which recently came out and looks like it will be a winner.

It's nice going out without having to wear a mask, though one is still required in order to ride MUNI, our public transportation system in SF.

That's about it for now. Stay safe and enjoy the summer. I know it's hot in pretty much the entire country, but here in SF, we are still ensconced in the mid 60s most of the time. Such an ordeal! LOL
